Smithe, Maureen’s buying decisions have come to identify the Smithe brand for a new generation of furniture buyers in Chicago and beyond. Recently, Maureen was asked to contribute to a Chicago Life story on living rooms versus great rooms.

Meet Talea Bloom


Walter E. Smithe  is proud to have Talea Bloom on our design team! Talea has been a member of the Smithe team since 2006, and a designer since 1995. After receiving her certification form the Arizona School of Interior Design, Talea worked in the design field doing various jobs from color consultations for residences and businesses, owning her own faux finishing company, to retail at various small design boutiques. Talea’s unique style and strong work ethic make her a favorite of clients and co-workers alike. Thanks for everything you do Talea!

Meet Eliza Diederich


Eliza Diederich studied Graphic Design at Herron School of Art in Indianapolis before joining the team at Walter E Smithe Furniture + Design. Eliza believes that all design starts with the same fundamentals; color, balance and scale. The difference between graphic and interior is the personal interaction. Eliza loves traveling to client’s homes, getting to know their families and coming up with a room that suits their needs.
